Do You Qualify? Eligibility Criteria & Preferences

To be considered for the MISA Technical Bursary, applicants must meet specific requirements. MISA encourages applications from all eligible South African students, with a strong preference given to those from:

  • Rural areas
  • Households with a combined annual income below R600,000
  • Previously disadvantaged communities
  • Persons with disabilities

Ensure you have certified copies of the following documents ready for your application:

  • South African ID document
  • Matric / Grade 12 certificate
  • Latest academic records (if currently studying)
  • Previous year’s tertiary results (for continuing students)
  • Proof of registration at an approved institution (on letterhead)

  • Proof of household income below R600,000 (e.g., affidavit from parent(s)/guardian(s), payslips, or affidavit for unemployed parents)
