Eastcape Midlands TVET College (EMC) is a public vocational and technical college located in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa, with its head office in Uitenhage (within the Nelson Mandela Bay area). Eastcape Midlands TVET College History

Eastcape Midlands TVET College has its roots in several older technical colleges. On 31 March 2002, a group of institutions — including Uitenhage Technical College, KwaNobuhle Technical College, Grahamstown Technical College and a satellite campus of Bethelsdorp Technical College — merged to form one larger, more comprehensive college. The institution was officially launched in October 2003 and has since expanded its academic offerings and campuses.

2027 online application at Eastcape Midlands are submitted online via the coltech portal between 01-30 September 2026. 

A placement test needs to be written by new students. This is to help the college determine your readiness for the programme you’ve applied to.

• Apprenticeships in welding, automotive repair, fitting, electrical trades

• Institute of Certified Bookkeepers (ICB) qualifications — including Junior Bookkeeping (NQF L3), Senior Bookkeeping (NQF L4), Office Administration and Certified Office Manager diplomas.

• NCV programmes: approx. R2,000 – R20,000 per year

• Report 191 courses: approx. R5,000 – R30,000 per year

• Skills short courses: starting from around R2,000
